As the Indian economy continues to be one of the fastest growing economies in the world, this growth will have to be powered by matching power consumption. The demand for power is slated to grow to 15280 TWH by 2040, of which renewable energy will account for 55% of the total installed capacity by 2030.
Ever-increasing urbanization leading to depletion of forest cover, increase in pollution levels and changes in climate patterns have shifted the policy thrust to development & deployment of renewable energy sources. With a clear policy focus and a conducive environment, India has made impressive progress on the renewable energy front. The country ranks 4 th in wind power and 5 th in solar power globally. Overall, the country ranks 5 th in renewable energy installed capacity as on 2018.
Buoyed by its relative success in this field, Government of India has recently revised its Renewable Energy capacity target to 227GW from earlier 175GW by 2022. The sector is projected to have investment opportunities worth US$ 500 by 2028.
To ideate on the emerging opportunities in New Energy for New India, Elets Technomedia, in Host Partnership with Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL)– A Government of Rajasthan Enterprise, is delighted to present Renewable Energy Summit 2021 on March 24-25, 2021.
